THE FIFA World Cup in Russia has kicked off against a backdrop of worldwide interest and anticipation. Queens Park Rangers (QPR) midfielder, Massimo Luongo, has earned 34 caps for his Australian national side since making his debut for them in 2014. He was a member of the 2014 FIFA World Cup squad and played a pivotal role in Australia winning the 2015 AFC Asian Cup, where he was named player of the tournament after scoring in the final.
Massimo regularly sees the QPR chiropractor, Catherine Quinn, throughout the season both for treatment and for rehabilitation and prevention in the form of Pilates, Yoga and other exercise instruction. Massimo said
“Chiropractic helps me to perform at my best in tournaments like the World Cup and seeing the QPR chiropractor plays an important role in keeping me going after throughout a long league season and into the international tournaments. Playing for Australia involves a lot of air travel and Catherine is always the first person I want to see when I get back!”
Catherine, a BCA chiropractor, said “Football can a demanding sport which is played over a long season. It is important that the players are performing at their best and functioning well across all their playing commitments, whether domestic or international. We all get excited when our QPR players are competing at major tournaments and nothing tops the World Cup! We do our best to ensure that they receive the best preparation possible before they head off. The BCA wishes Mass a great tournament… unless they come up against England of course!”
